Quantum Loop is a short non-linear space exploration game where you play as a galactic agent sent on a mission across time to solve an existential threat to the universe: the Asteroid Crisis.

Explore, dodge, and zoom your way around the quadrant, meeting quirky characters and completing intertwining quests that you're left to solve however you'd like. Exploit everything you can learn about the quadrant to solve the asteroid crisis and save the universe!

Every life matters! - Your mission takes place within a time loop!

If you hit an asteroid, it's game over. But your knowledge stays with you! Exploit what you can learn about the world to reach success!

The game world is completely open, and you're free to explore however you like, so get out there and see what you discover!

The asteroids are overrunning the quadrant. You'll have to act fast to solve the crisis before it's too late!

Exploit interwoven questlines!

You're let loose to complete quests however you'd like, and nearly everything in the game has multiple purposes. Use your wits to find innovative ways to complete your objectives! Make your own choices and play your way!

Will you buy a shiny new laser rifle to help break up the asteroids? Or will you save your credits and rely on your zero-g flying skills? Will you help out an astronaut in need? Or hold onto your supplies for your mission? Stop the asteroids!

You've been sent to the distant past and tasked to resolve a dire threat to the universe by any means necessary. The asteroids are flooding this quadrant of the galaxy, and no one knows where they're coming from nor how to stop them. Can you destroy the asteroids and break yourself out of the dimension loop?

Exploration is key to your success, and you'll find it rewarding to uncover the game's world. Every objective has multiple solutions, each with its own risks and drawbacks. Every life gives you a new chance to explore different paths and discover new ways to progress.

I've focused on player freedom and problem-solving as core pillars and resisted the urge to make it hold your hand too much through completing the game's objectives.

The game is currently an entirely solo project. I built a bespoke engine for the game using PyGame Community Edition.

I hope to release Quantum Loop on Steam and here on itch.io sometime in 2024. I expect it to be around an hour long by completion, although the nature of the game means some will take more or less time than others. I expect to add a decent bit of side content and extra features.
